| October | National Disability (Employment) Awareness Month (Congress declared the 1st week in October as "National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week" in 1945 (made into law), in 1962 "Physically" was dropped and in 1988, Congress expanded the week to a month and changed to the name we use today.) |
