Who: If you are a postdoc, guest researcher or student, then this event is tailored for you.
Announcement: The 2009 (6th) Boulder Laboratories Postdoctoral Poster Symposium will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m., in the David Skaggs Research Center Multipurpose Room GC-402. In addition to an excellent networking opportunity for postdoctoral associates and students, this event fosters appreciation for the breadth, novelty and excitement of research in the Boulder Labs. A number of Outstanding Presentation awards will be presented during the symposium. The Boulder Laboratories Diversity Council (BLDC) is the event's sponsor, and BLDC members will furnish refreshments for all to enjoy. Please mark your calendars and plan to participate.
Call for abstracts: Postdoctoral associates and undergraduate or graduate student researchers from NOAA, NIST, NTIA and each of their joint institutes are invited to contribute presentations. We are seeking broad participation by NRC, Guest Researchers, JILA, CIRES, CIRA, etc. affiliates who are within seven years of an earned doctorate, and in addition, undergraduate and graduate students who are doing research in the Boulder Labs. To be included in the program, please send titles and abstracts to the event chair - Joseph Magee by May 17. Our intent is to be inclusive, so if you are not sure that you would qualify to present, ask the event chair. You are asked to send a text-only abstract of 100 to 250 words. An acceptance notice will be provided for each contribution. Collected abstracts will be printed in a Symposium Abstract Book. During the poster session, judges will listen to presentations and select those to receive awards. Outstanding Presentation awards will be displayed on the winning posters.
